With over 15 years of expertise under her belt, Laura embarked on her professional journey after obtaining her Bachelors and Masters in Accountancy from the University of Houston. She commenced her career at one of the Big4 accounting firms in Houston, TX, where she not only earned her CPA license but also gained extensive experience working with diverse clients and industries. These industries included, but were not limited to, oil & gas, utilities, renewable energy, construction, real estate, private equity and the tax specialist on SEC Audits in ASC740.
Seeking a new adventure, Laura and her husband relocated to Hawaii in October 2018. In Honolulu, she continued her career as an experienced Tax Senior Manager in the Deloitte Honolulu office as the utilities and construction specialist for ASC740, private equity and construction partnerships. Laura took a brief break from public accounting and pursued a career in the IRS as part of the National Pass Through Entity audit standup, Forms and Legislation specialists leader.
Presently, Laura is the Director of Tax Services here at HiAccounting and is responsible for managing the day-today operations and development of the Tax Department. She has a strong technical tax background and is responsible for managing the client service experience and deliverables including income tax returns and research memos. Her priority is developing and sustaining excellent client, team and community relationships.
